The Victorian Era   Leave a comment

I have been a lover of the Victorian Days ever since I knew there was one. In certain ways, times were simpler. And,those days were stricter about some things. I do like that. A few years ago I wrote a Christmas Story taking place in the month of December. Dad, Mom, Brother, and Sister go to Grandpa and Grandma’s house, riding in on a big sleigh through the snow. “Peaches Victorian Christmas” is the first story I had written.

My favorite thing is the way ladies dressed. They had beautiful floor length gowns and wore big billowy hats. The gentlemen also looked so handsome in their suits of the day. And, something I’ve been intrigued with, is Sunday afternoons everyone would be all dressed up, get in their finest carriages, and take a ride in the park. This was one of the fashionable things to do.

Yes, I do love the Victorian Era. It had its hardships, although everyone made their own happiness. Balls in The Season, sleigh rides, going to the park, sing a longs at the town band stand. A unique way of life!
