A Small Bird   Leave a comment

Not far from here
is a wooded area
that is home for the birds.
This is where I go for my daily walks.
One day while walking, a small bird
flew before me.

It was pretty, blue in color and a
little bit bigger than a hummingbird.
The little guy seemed to know exactly
where he was going. I stopped walking
and watched.

High on a branch was a
small nest. I could see
4 little heads peeking out.
The bird flying before me
was their mother and she
was gathering food for them.

I watched in amazement
as she fed each one in turn.
A few minutes later,
she settled down with them.
After watching them for
several minutes, I went
away in awe of how a
mother bird takes care
of her young.
